Capital Sales Specialist (m/w/d) - Enabling Technologies & Robotics (m/w/

Location: Austria, Full-time (100%)

Role Purpose

The future of healthcare is digital surgery! The integration of surgical technology, real-time data, and intelligence is driving outstanding changes in the healthcare landscape. Johnson & Johnson MedTech is at the forefront of shaping this future. Digital and Capital Equipment will be essential for advancements in digital surgery. Therefore, we are looking for an exceptional Capital Sales Specialist to support our innovative platform.

As a Capital Sales Specialist (m/w/d), you will be responsible for selling digital solutions, robotics, and capital equipment, focusing primarily on our robotic system, the VELYS Robotic Assisted Solution (VRAS). You will play a vital role in our newly formed VELYS Enabling Technologies and Robotics team.
You will report to the VELYS Lead, working closely with the entire VELYS team and the Joint Reconstruction team to build a significant impact in digital surgery across Austria.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the capital sales cycle within dedicated accounts.
  • Build partnerships with key decision-makers in prospective accounts, including chief surgeons, C-suite executives, head nurses, IT, legal, sterilization, and supply chain teams.
  • Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, application support, strategic account management, commercial operations, pricing, and supply chain.
  • Demonstrate the ability to sell breakthrough technology and establish new market opportunities.
  • Manage and close capital sales cycles for investment products effectively.
  • Apply financing and leasing products to facilitate business closures, as well as selling service contracts.
  • Work proactively with the tendering team to align with legal procurement regulations.
  • Participate in sales training meetings, trade shows, roadshows, product training, and events to promote and increase visibility of the company's products.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years of demonstrated success in surgical or medical capital equipment sales.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to effectively navigate complex sales discussions and close deals.
  • Strong understanding of hospital financial operations in both public and private sectors.
  • Customer focused: Able to effectively translate clinical benefits into economic value for healthcare providers and comfortable using financial-based selling tools.
  • Proven executive selling experience with C-suite hospital executives, as well as the ability to engage with chief surgeons and healthcare professionals.
  • Highly collaborative: Proven track record of connecting people and launching projects in a matrix organization.
  • Results-driven with excellent analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Strong organizational skills and process-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in surgical orthopaedics and capital equipment use in operating room settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with OR navigation and imaging technologies is a plus.

  • Proficient in both German and English.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong planning and dedication delivery abilities.
  • Digital approach and proficiency.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Willingness to travel a minimum of 75% of the time, including overnight stays.
  • Willingness to travel and conduct sales throughout Austria.
